Jollibee is the newest icon to appear on Uniqlo shirts. And this is not just for kids. The “joy fits all.”

UNIQLO, the Japanese fashion retail giant, often collaborates with global brands for its T-shirt line, UT, to give more people a wider range of tee design choices. These collaborations make UNIQLO closer to more people around the world.

This year, UNIQLO puts a local touch to its global connection by partnering with a home-grown global Filipino fast food chain, Jollibee. UNIQLO creates Jollibee T-shirts that will be sold in Southeast Asian countries like the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.

The limited edition Jollibee shirts will feature Jollibee’s logo and eponymous mascot as the main shirt design. The ever-smiling Jollibee is one of the well-loved icons in the Filipino culture as it evokes memories and feelings of joy, childlike playfulness and close family ties.

“Jollibee and UNIQLO share the same goal of providing a valued offering to every Filipino family. Our partnership with Jollibee will bring us closer to every member of the Filipino family as UNIQLO offers clothes for everyone,” said Katsumi Kubota, Fast Retailing Philippines Inc.’s Chief Operating Officer.

“Our collaboration with Uniqlo affirms Jollibee’s place in the hearts of Filipinos and its status as a proudly Pinoy, internationally recognized icon. Aside from being a fast food chain, Jollibee has grown to become a symbol of Filipinos—jolly, joyful and family-oriented,” said Jollibee Philippines President Joseph Tanbuntiong.
