Japanese apparel retail brand, Uniqlo, is set to open their first store in Mindanao and 37th store in the Philippines on Friday, May 26, at the SM Lanang Premier, Davao City.
“We recognize the great economic growth of the region. We have high expectation for this opening in Mindanao,” said Katsumi Kubota, Uniqlo Philippines chief operating officer, during the media and VIP launch of their first store in Mindanao at SM Lanang Premier Davao.
The opening of their store also marks their fifth year in the country.
“It is very timely that we are celebrating the 5th year in the first store in Mindanao, at SM Lanang Premier,” Kubota said.
Kubota said Dabawenyos can expect a full range of their LifeWear essentials for men, women, kids, and babies. The line includes Uniqlo shirts, pants, dresses, and proprietary clothing technology products like Airism, Heattech, and Uniqlo Sports.
“We want to deliver Uniqlo all over the Philippines. So, it is natural for us to come to Mindanao,” Kubota said.
After the opening at SM Lanang Premier, Uniqlo is also set to open its second store in Mindanao at SM City Davao Annex on June 2.
After the opening of the two stores here in Davao City, Uniqlo is also set to open another store at SM Cagayan de Oro Downtown Premier by the end of June.
Kubota said they are eyeing to have a total of 40 stores by the end of this year. Their 40th store will be in Subic.
