Italian home appliance manufacturer Smeg has launched its Philippine flagship store in Makati.
Smeg Philippines president Ton Concepcion said: “The new Park Terraces store is representative of our brand’s move into the lifestyle space. We are not just here to sell kitchen appliances, we are here to bring out the best in food, to bring people together, and to make dream spaces a reality.”
“In the Philippines, we envision Smeg to be more than just an appliance brand, but a cornerstone of Filipino’s family home and memories,” the company said on its website.
Smeg appliances have been chosen for Ayala Land Premier projects including Park Terraces Makati Towers, Arbor Lanes, The Suites, Garden Towers and East Gallery Place. The partnership allows for units in these premium developments to be custom-fitted with Smeg for cooking and entertaining.
Aside from Ayala, Smeg also partners of with Shangri-la Horizon Homes, The Proscenium by Rockwell, Alphaland Makati Place, Raffles Residences, Sky Villas Premiere and Dexterton Building.
‘Smeg’ stands for Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla, or Enamel Works from Guastalla Emilia. It was founded by Vittorio Bertazzoni from a town in northern Italy, and is today one of the Italy’s leading home appliance manufacturers.The Bertazzoni family’s entrepreneurial history begins way back in the 19th century.
Its range includes refrigerators, cookers, dishwashers, grills, gas hobs, coffee makers and ovens.
Smeg has 16 subsidiaries worldwide: in the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, South Africa, the US, Australia and Mozambique.
