The evolution of shopping via e-commerce has prompted the retail arm of SM Group to launch its own online presence.
The thesmstore.com went live Monday, and the company plans to have nationwide coverage in 2015.
“Our commitment is to provide convenience and accessibility to our customers through innovation. We remain cognizant of the evolution of shopping trends throughout the years,” SM Retail Inc. president Jorge Mendiola said.
The move came a month after specialty retailer SSI Group Inc. launched e-commerce site SSI Life last November 15.
While SM Store offers door-to-door deliveries in most parts of the Philippines through its logistics partners, clients also have the option to pick-up their purchases at SM North EDSA 24 hours placing their orders online.
In Visayas and Mindanao, the SM Store will eventually extend the pick-up arrangements in branches in Mandurriao, Bacolod, Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro and General Santos.
