Rustan Supercenters, a member of Dairy Farm International in the Philippines, has just announced it appointed Irwin Lee as its new CEO after 30 years spent at P&G.
The former managing director of P&G’s business in the UK, Ireland and then Northern Europe, has been announced as the new chief executive of Rustan Supercenters in his native Philippines. Irwin Lee will bring 30 years of experience of working for P&G to the role, from which he stepped down from last year.
Since then Lee has been supporting UK retailer Morrisons as a non-executive director and chair of the company’s remuneration committee. He will step down from this position in August 2016, ahead of relocating to the Philippines.
Rustan Supercenters is one of the Philippines leading grocery retailers, with multi-format operations across various banners, including its value-orientated Shopwise hypermarkets, more premium Rustan’s Supermarkets and Wellcome neighborhood supermarkets.
The majority of the retailer’s operations are based in Metro Manila, however like other retailers in the market is gradually looking to expand its presence across the country, particularly through its smaller Wellcome stores.
