The group was also given a special recognition in CSR (corporate social responsibility) for its initiatives in providing Filipinos homes in prime locations in the country and for its efforts to remodel overpopulated public schools and classrooms across the country.

Entries for this year’s awards were double that of last year as more than 200 entries were recorded.

Lindsay Orr, Jones Lang Lasalle Philippines country manager and chairman of the judges for the Philippine Property awards, noted the increasing amount of entries from outside of Metro Manila.

“Whilst there’s still a emphasis on Metro Manila, there was an increase in the number of entries from Cebu and also Davao,” Orr said. “What we need to do now is to continue to bang the drums and build the awareness for the Philippine Property Awards so that next year we will make sure that we’ll have an even larger section of entries from other regions.”
Another special recognition of the night was the Real Estate Personality of the Year, which was awarded to former Senate President Manuel Villar Jr., founder of the Vista Land Group.

“I am deeply grateful for, and profoundly humbled by this recognition from the Philippine Property Awards,” Villar said. “For me, the Real Estate Personality of the Year award is a testament to how Vista Land has been an instrument in improving the lives of Filipinos by providing them homes to live comfortably and communities where necessities are within their reach.”
