As part of the Philippine Retailers Association’s (PRA) thrust and advocacy to promote green, responsible, and sustainable practices, PRA is collaborating with Humble Sustainability, an e-commerce platform for circular living that collects items that people and/or businesses no longer use and bring them back to circularity.
The virtual MOU signing on June 15, 2022 was represented and formalized by PRA President Rosemarie B. Ong, and Humble Sustainability Co-founders Josef Werker and Niña Opida.
As the call for sustainability across all industries becomes fervent, the PRA is initiating a sustainability campaign called The Green Project that will help promote awareness on environmental sustainability to its members. Under the Green Project campaign, PRA aims to promote and influence Filipino retailers to adopt sustainable ways in businesses such as practicing reduce, re-use and recycle, and to create a greener retail industry that contributes into the circular economy and the journey towards zero waste.
The collaboration of PRA and Humble shall incentivize and encourage retailers to declutter their unused and/or unsold items through Humble, that can pick up the items for recycling and/or upcycling, which will be then sold in the Humble thrift store. Humble offers several benefits to PRA members who will declutter such as business consignment opportunities for unsold inventory and unused assets, and special priority in booking slots. Moreover, PRA members can also gain access and have bulk discounts to sustainable packaging options that will be purchased directly from Humble.
More details on the campaign and partnership will be announced soon by the PRA.
