Newly-elected Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) President and Wilcon SEVP-COO Rosemarie B. Ong was recently honored with the International Women Entrepreneurial Conference (IWEC) award during the 11th IWEC Annual Conference in Shanghai, China.
IWEC is a network of successful women business owners and leaders with proven track records in revenue, employee base, trade, innovation and corporate social responsibility. It provides networking, educational and mentoring opportunities for successful female business owners helping them gain and expand access to international markets.
President Ong has spent more than three decades managing Wilcon Depot in positions in marketing, administration and operations.
She served as the Former Treasurer of the Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA) Foundation. She is also currently serving as the President of Wilcon Builders’ Foundation, Inc. (WBFI), a Director and the Chairman Committee on CSR and Public Relations of Philippine Constructors Association (PCA). She has been part of the PRA Board of Directors since 2009 and was elected as the association’s president this year.
During her interview prior to the awarding ceremony, President Ong expressed her happiness that more women today are being recognized in their contribution in various fields.
“It’s heartwarming and a great honor that women now are being recognized globally for their contributions for whatever field they belong to. This is also an honor for the organization and for the county,” she said.
