It is a 2-day virtual event for next generation leaders, founders, top executives, senior & middle managers, supervisors, start-ups, and entrepreneurs. It aims to uncover new retail mindset ideas, share perspectives on strategy and leadership towards creating future-ready retail leaders and stay competitive in the market with leading local & global companies, influencers, and advisors.
Happening virtually on October 27-28 via Zoom, this year’s theme is “Retail Revamp: Reskilling and Retooling the Next-Gen Retail Leaders”.
PRA President and Wilcon Depot Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Rosemarie Ong said the PRA has reinvented ways to serve its members and the industry by creating and curating fresh learning views that spark inspiration and are geared towards upgrading and updating the skills and competencies of the retail workforce. This leadership summit aims to uncover new retail mindsets to shape and hone the new retail leaders of today.
Inception Retail Group, Inc. Chief Executive Officer, Fortune 500 Retail Executive George Minakakis, and Levi Strauss General Manager for SOutheast Asia & General Manager for Thailand Sameer Koul will present the 1st-day keynote addresses at the first-ever Retail Leaders Summit taking place on October 27, 2022 via Zoom.
George Minakakis, a globally experienced executive in the retail, food service and utility sector, will be one of the keynote speakers on the first day of the event on “Next Generation of Retailing”. He has led the development, turnaround and growth of retail chains in Canada, USA and China. His career includes working for companies like PepsiCo and Luxottica which includes brands like LensCrafters and Sunglass Hut. Today he works with private equity firms as a CEO partner and on the buy-side of opportunities with consumer facing businesses and advises executives and board directors. He is also the Chairman of a Hydro Utility serving consumers.
He is the author of three books: The New Bricks & Mortar-Future Proofing Retail, The Great Transition-The Emergence of Unconventional Leadership, and The Last Retailer Standing.
Sameer Koul, General Manager for Southeast Asia and Country Manager for Thailand at Levi Strauss & Co., one of the keynote speakers, will be discussing “How Levi Strauss &Co. Positively Impacts Communities in which it operates, through values-led Leadership”. Having been with the company for over 13 years, he holds a stellar record for driving business success and is known for his strong operational focus. He oversees business performance in nine markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Guam. Prior to this role, he was the Country Manager for Indonesia where he led the team in successfully launching Levi’s ® largest store in Southeast Asia, showcasing the latest NextGen Indigo store format.
