The PRA recently conducted the 14th episode of Thought Leadership Series last October 6, 2021 via Zoom in co-presented by global healthcare company Abbott with renowned expert Dr. Januario Veloso on the importance of frequent testing to limit the spread of COVID 19.
Dr. Veloso explained valuable points in his presentation in which one in three to five infected people will experience no symptoms, frequent testing is a necessary stop gap while COVID-19 vaccination is still ongoing and testing of asymptomatic patients at least once or twice weekly is a must.
Further, Dr. Veloso added that since testing in the post-vaccination era is still vital, people may opt to do Antigen Rapid Testing or ART – an affordable complement to molecular testing as it has a rapid turnaround under 30 minutes, lower accuracy, administered at point-of-care and can be scaled with appropriate training and funding.
Lastly, (1) he recommended to strengthen the COVID-19 testing through ART or Antigen Rapid Testing as a cost-effective solution to identify the most infectious so they can quarantine and not spread the virus to their family, friends and communities.
Atty. Paul A. Santos, PRA Chairman and Picture City President welcomed the attendees and Raphael Layosa, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Retailgate Technologies, Inc. moderated the event.
The 14th PRA Thought Leadership Series is proudly co-presented by Abbott, a global healthcare leader that helps people live more fully at all stages of life with program partner Retailgate and media partner MEGAMOBILE, INC. (a member of the Inquirer Group of Companies).
