Xandra Ramos-Padilla, Sam Gregory Lim, Cristalle Belo-Pitt, and Toby Claudio will share their experiences as next generation leaders at the 26th NRCE.

Next generation leaders from some of the most successful businesses in the country, including National Bookstore, Belo Medical Group, Toby’s Sports, SM-EDD (Engineering Design and Development), and Blims Furniture will grace the 26th National Retail Conference and Stores Asia Expo on August 15-16, 2019 to share their experiences and insights as leaders in their respective businesses.

Cristalle Belo-Pitt of Belo Medical Group, Toby Claudio of Quorom International Inc., Xandra Ramos-Padilla of National Book Store, Hans Sy, Jr. of SM-EDD (Engineering Design and Development), and Sam Gregory Lim of Blims Furniture will join the panel discussion on “The Next Gen Leaders and the New Leadership Equation” on Day 1 of the NRCE at the MoA SMX Convention Center, to share their stories, challenges, and innovations when they joined their family businesses.

Daughter of the prominent cosmetic dermatologist Dra. Vicki Belo, Cristalle Belo-Pitt, shared that she started out being involved in the family business by serving patients with refreshments or offering magazines in her mother’s 50-sqm clinic and when she was just in high school.

“Both my parents are entrepreneurs and I love how they would discuss business issues and concerns during family meals. It was my way of learning real life issues that entrepreneurs would face,” Cristalle shared.

Cristalle is the Managing Director Belo Essentials (Intelligent Skin Care, Inc.), an offshoot of the Belo Medical Group established in 2007 with the goal of giving everyone a chance to experience Belo products more affordably through beauty soaps, lotions, and creams, among others.

Toby Claudio, of whom Toby’s Sports was named after by his father Roberto Claudio, shared that the most challenging part of his job as the President of The Quorum Group of Companies (Toby’s Sports, RUNNR, Urban Athletics, etc.) is ensuring that the business is prepared for the rapid shift in the way consumers shop.

He also shared that the biggest lesson he learned so far is that a company continually needs to innovate to ensure that it can satisfy customers changing needs especially in the fast-evolving retail industry.

“The NRCE is always a great source of information on the latest trends and best practices in retailing. I think it would be interesting to hear what NextGen retailers see as the most important factors to consider for retailers in the Philippines moving forward and how they are coping with the changes in the industry,” Toby added.

The NRCE is the country’s longest running and biggest retail industry event, and is the centerpiece of the Philippine Retailers Association’s efforts in helping retailers attain global competitiveness.

The annual event serves as the hub for retailers and partner industries to know about the latest trends, developments and technologies in retailing, providing attendees new and relevant learning year after year for more than two decades.

With the theme “Retail Reimagined,” this year’s NRCE brings some of the most relevant talks and discussions on pressing issues and trends, and forecasts on the future of the industry—presented by global retail visionary leaders.

The 26th NRCE is supported by PLDT Enterprise, Wilcon Depot, Globe Business, BENCH, SM Retail Inc., Megaworld Corp., and Aptos, as Platinum sponsors.
