Metro Supermarket: Upholding best practices in quality and food safety

For Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (MRSGI), ensuring the safety and sanitation of its branches translates to greater customer reassurance and patronage and ensures the continued well-being of its employees. The company invests much to uphold best practices in quality and food safety, and it is distinguished for being the only retailer that has certifications for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards for four of its supermarkets, namely Metro Alabang, Metro Ayala Cebu, Metro Mandaue, and Metro Market! Market!.

Metro Supermarket in Ayala Center is the first supermarket in Cebu that holds such certification and it has been recently recertified after an audit was conducted by the British Standards Institution (BSI) Group Philippines, Inc., a global leader in inspection and certification. The other supermarkets were audited by Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS) Philippines.
