Businessman Lester Yu’s Fruitas Holdings Inc. is taking over the 72-year old Ling Nam restaurant brand, with plans to turn it into a major dining chain in the coming years.
Fruitas, known for smaller-format food kiosks via its flagship Fruitas juice outlets and De Original Jamaican Pattie Shop, said in a stock exchange filing on Friday it agreed to acquire 100 percent of LN Banaue Inc., which operates Ling Nam restaurants.
