Duty Free Philippines Corporation (DFPC) has recently partnered with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to launch a new online shopping validation system that will verify legitimate duty-free shoppers.
The new service which will be launched this month is expected to offer convenient shopping to incoming tourists, who can buy up to USD1,000 worth of items 48 hours upon arrival, which they can then pick up at the airport.
To avail the service, customers must set up an account at dutyfreephilippines.ph and must upload a proof of travel including passport and boarding pass, which the BI will verify.
The memorandum of agreement was signed by DFPC chief operating officer Vicente Pelagio Angala and BI Commissioner Jaime H. Morente in Taguig City last December.
The DFP online shopping website was launched early 2019 and has over 1,000 items to choose from within the categories of perfumes, cosmetics, home furnishing, confectionery, groceries, toys, electronics, cigarettes, wines, liquor, and Filipino export-quality products.
