The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Pangasinan has urged business owners practicing good customer-service to apply for the Bagwis seal of excellence.

Peter Mangabat, provincial director of DTI-Pangasinan, said all retail establishments are encouraged to join the Bagwis accreditation program that gives due recognition to business stalls practicing costumer welfare protection and social responsibility.

He said business establishments such as supermarkets, specialty stores, department stores, appliance centers, hardware stores and DTI-accredited service or repair shops can join the accreditation program.

Mangabat said business owners who want to join the accreditation program shall submit the following requirements: duly accomplished form (DTI-CE Form NO. 001); copy of latest mayor’s permit; copy of business name certificate for sole proprietorship or Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registration certificate and articles of corporation for partnership and corporation; certification that the applicant has no record of unresolved case for violation of any Fair Trade Law for at least one year prior to application; endorsement from any recognized associations, civic or religious organization with at least five years in existence and DTI accreditation certificate (applicable only for service and repair shops).

Mangabat disclosed that at least 37 business stalls in the province were conferred with gold and silver seal of excellence last year.

“These awardees provide not only quality products but best sales and customer service to their clients,” he said.
