Ayala Malls Group, the retail arm of Ayala Land, has opened the P2.5 billion (US$50 million) Ayala Malls The 30th in Pasig City.
It is the group’s first commercial development near the Ortigas business district, occupying a 2ha site on Meralco Avenue. It adds 28,000 sqm of retail space to the company’s shopping portfolio.
Ayala Malls The 30th is a four-level lifestyle mall that houses four cinemas, a Rustans supermarket and the Corte, an outdoor space for events and mall activities. There are also two indoor activity areas and three levels of basement parking.
GM Marianna Zobel de Ayala says the mall is almost fully occupied. It has 184 tenants comprising retail, restaurants and services. Apart from the outdoor space, there are two indoor activity areas, plus three levels of basement parking.
Ayala Malls Group senior division manager and area head Aurora Legarda says the mall is close to gated residential subdivisions, condos and multinational offices. The company sees the new retail development transforming into a commercial hub, as it will have 20 floors of office spaces above the shopping center.
The mall was originally slated to open five months ago.
