2GO takes the frontlines

In response to calls for humanitarian needs following Super Typhoon Odette (Rai) that raged across Southern Philippines, 2GO Group Inc. moved tons of relief goods port-to-port to victims for free.

2GO Group, Inc.’s business arm, 2GO Sea Solutions, transported donations and cargo in typhoon-stricken areas, from Manila to Cebu, Bohol, Bacolod, Butuan (for Siargao and Surigao City), Cagayan De Oro, Dumaguete (for Bais City), Iloilo and Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

With internet connection cut off in Palawan province, “We have no means of communicating via text messages. Network providers aren’t certain when the service will be restored,” according to 2GO Sea Solutions Palawan Manager Anthony Ruiz, who drove over half a hundred kilometers through roads strewn with fallen trees and debris to find the nearest town with the strongest cell phone signal.
