Retired Police Senior Superintendent Felipe Herras Buena, Jr. is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Philippine Military Class of 1978. A “Starman” during his last 2 years as cadet and eventually graduating top of his Class, he still holds the record as the most awarded PMA graduate having received a total of three (3) sabers and nine (9) other awards which included the Zobel Scholarship Award.
In the military and police service for 26 years, he occupied various positions of responsibility, attended varied military and police training programs locally and abroad, and received numerous medals and commendations for exemplary accomplishments. He holds a Master in Business Management degree from the AIM and Master in Public Administration from MLQU.
Upon his retirement in 2000, he worked a Bank Security Manager of RCBC for more than 2 years. Then he joined the Shangri-La/Kuok Group of Companies as Group Security Head for the mall and non-mall properties for more than 5 years. He continued working as Area Director of Security handling all Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts in the Philippines for about 4 years.
Now as the Vice President for Customer Relations Service of SM Retail, Inc., he is responsible in managing the overall security and safety of The SM Department Stores and SM Retail Affiliates such as Watsons, Kultura, Toy Kingdom, Forever 21, Uniqlo, Ace Hardware, Homeworld, Sports Central, Baby, Co., SM Appliance, to name a few.
As a Corporate Security Practitioner with varied experience in bank, hotel, mall and retail security for the last 16 yeas, he advocates focused and customized security and safety solutions based on a standard framework of Threat 7 Vulnerability Identification, Threat / Loss Prevention, Incident Management and Crisis Management.
