Avis Philippines was recently named by Avis Car Rental as “Licensee of the Year” for the Asia Pacific region in a statement issued from its Parsipanny, New Jersey headquarters.

Patric Siniscalchi, Asia-Pacific president of the Avis Budget Group noted that in a challenging and highly-competitive market, “Avis Philippines has demonstrated strong growth in rentals and revenues.”

Its consistent growth from six vehicles in 1972 to more than 500 vehicles today in 18 stations throughout the country was highly lauded in an Avis Asia Pacific conference in Singapore where Avis Philippines national sales and marketing manager Artel Sebastian received the Licensee of the Year plaque on behalf of G&S Transport Corporation, which holds the Philippine license.

Rafael Lucila, Avis Philippines president and CEO, disclosed that his firm “has employed a variety of innovative approaches to retain its leadership in the car rental industry and to satisfy different segments of the market.” Its nationwide computerized network, for instance, allows clients to make a reservation in one location and use or return the vehicle in another location as well as to closely monitor billings and expenses.

Avis Philippines likewise makes use of various media platforms freeing customers to make reservations round the clock – be it over the telephone, website or social media. The company is also constantly seeking to meet clients’ evolving needs by offering services like fleet management to firms who wish to be freed from operation and maintenance of their vehicles so executives can focus on their core business.

The company has also invested in a rigorous training and development program that has enabled its personnel to consistently meet the quality standards of the international brand.

Sebastian said that Avis’ evolving menu of services includes airport transfers, pick-up and drop-off, the car-hire service. Clients also have the option to self-drive or to use the services of a chauffeur. Avis Philippines carries brands like Toyota, Mercedes Benz, Hyundai and Honda and a range of models from sedans to multi-purpose vehicles as well as coasters and 45-seater buses.

Moreover, clients can choose from vehicles with automatic or manual transmission and can rent by the hour (with three hours as a minimum), day, week or month. In anticipation of customers’ convenience, it also offers global positioning system (GPS) navigation devices, child safety seats, vehicle damage coverage options and vehicle leasing services.

Avis Philippines has consistently been filling the car rental demand in growing markets like the booming Mandaue area in Cebu City, growth areas in Calamba, Batangas and Quezon City where the company recently opened stations.

Avis is one of the world’s top brands and has a highly loyal customer base. In the Philippines, it has key accounts among BPOs, manufacturing and electronics firms, travel and tours and a number of hotels in key urban areas.
